My Playlist...Song Lyric Poem

I just saw this post on my friend Renee's blog, Steeler Girl's Blog, and I had to join in! This is a LOT of fun! :p

My poem sounds like I'm leaving/left my hubby! Oh no! I don't really know what the birds have to do with anything though?? LOL Here it is...

Well, I guess it would be nice,
Now as the summer fades, I let you slip away.
Hey, once I was a funky singer, playin' in a Rock and Roll Band;
Wakin' up to find another day.

I got a pocket, gotta pocketful of sunshine ~
Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk;
It's been the longest winter without you.
You don't know how you met me?

If I could escape, I would, but first of all let me say...
Games, changes, and fears;
You have my heart.
If I was a rich girl...

Closed off from love, I didn't need the pain,
Back in black.
Well, I went down to the Grundy County Auction;
Where I come from isn't all that great.

I remember when, I remember...
Gettin' born in the state of Mississippi,
Where is the moment we needed the most
Three little birds, sat on my window...

ROTFLMAO!!!! :D

  1. LOL -- most of the examples I've seen from this little exercise compete pretty well with the "modern" and "beatnik" poetry of the early 20th century!

  3. Girl, you know your music! :D I like a lot of the older stuff, 80s, etc.

    I used to listed to Pandora until I discovered playlist.com ~ it's awesome! You should give it a try. I like it better than Pandora.

    Thanks for commenting!
