My Favorite Cover

Well, I've chosen another "hottie" for you ladies ~ and this time you can see his face!

This week, my favorite cover is...

A Cowboy Christmas
by Janette Kenny

(from Fantastic Fiction)

One Starry Night

Reid Barclay doesn't have time for Christmas, not with trouble brewing at the Crown Seven Ranch. He's got prize thoroughbreds to protect and a long-ago wrong that he wants to make right. But the beautiful cook who's taken over the ranch kitchen is a welcome distraction, even if Ellie Jo Cade burns everything from gingerbread to roast beef. Her sweet face and womanly figure are pure temptation. . .

Cornhusk angels. . .bright berry garlands. . .spun-sugar snow--everything about Christmas holds fond memories for Ellie Jo. She's doing her best to make peace with an ornery wood-burning stove and make the old ranch house truly festive. All she wants is to believe in Reid. . .and the only-at-Christmas magic that makes hearts glow. . .

  1. You're right - it's a step in the right direction... and again - he does have nice abs - but as a romantic stare girl, I think he should be looking at the camera so we can see & feel his eyes. Like... Well, if you pull out the cover for A Passion Most Pure - Collin does not have his shirt all undone - but those eyes... He looks at you and little pieces inside me melt. (Or so I imagine - which is the whole idea.)

Of course - if you are an ab person - this is the perfect pic. :o)

Have you read the book or do you just like the cover?

I've noticed a lot of the books I've been reading will only have the woman on the front - or just small, smudged or cut off pics of the man. I don't know why.

  3. LEE ~ Girl...you are just so hard to please! LOL I'll try harder next week! Yeah, the shirt being undone really does nothing for me...just knowing he's a cowboy excites me! *sigh* You're so right about Collin! All I can say is...mmmmmm!! *double sigh*

I haven't read this book yet... I received it in a "buddy" swap on PBS. I hope to read it soon.

I don't know why only women are being shown on covers either??? Some books are going with NOBODY on the cover??? I just don't get it?

RENEE ~ Thanks, but I've got to try harder to excite Lee! LOL

  7. LOL You have got me rolling reading these comments. So now your aim is just to please me? I am so flattered {picture the fluttering eyelids}. lol

No - you know I love the covers you share. Besides ~ what can compare with Collin? I get all mushy inside just thinking about that. Maybe it's time to re-read that trilogy ~ again. :op

  8. HANNAH ~ Whew! I'm glad we won't be getting in trouble with your Mom! It's okay if you're the youngest reader...I like readers of all ages...then we get to hear thoughts/opinions from lots of different views. *wink*

LEE ~ I'm glad we have you "rolling"...you sound like me and my sisters...that's something we would say. hahaha Do you by chance say "bawling" for crying? My hubby makes fun of us for saying that! LOL

I wish I had my Daughters of Boston series here, so I could look at Collin, but alas, my sister has borrowed them. :( OH! I'll just go look online...then I can zoom in!! Woo-hoo! *giggling*

  10. Woo-hoo! I'll have to tell my sisters that we are not the only ones who "bawl"! They will be so excited! hahaha

  11. Lori - I have this great big book called the synonym finder to help me find new words... I am just starting to use it to try and make my writing more interesting... you know - so I don't use the word "walked" a hundred times in the first 20 pages. I look it up and choose a better word - so yes, bawled is one I have used instead of cried. lol I prefer to "lol" though. (or pout) :o) {wink} I told my mom today that I was bawling like a baby. So you all are not alone at all.

I used to put it up {My Passion Most Pure} - but now it is just on my desk all the time. I refer to it all the time... plus - I do like the view. They just needed to make his pic a little bigger.... lol

  12. You're so funny, Lee! Just bring on the synonyms! Awww...are you okay? I hope nothing is seriously wrong, to have you "bawling like a baby"?!?!

Oooo! You should take a close-up pic of the cover, print it out as an 8x10, 14x16, or larger, and frame it! How cool would that be???? *sigh*
